The correlation of the Niger Delta Youths Leaders has appealed to youths in the Region to embrace peace and support the Federal Government in its beats to ensure lasting peace in the Niger Delta.
The leader of the correlation Comrade Emenibe made the appeal when the group visited the Defense headquarters in Abuja. He said the Niger Delta Youth leaders visit to the defense headquarters was to commend the military for its sustained efforts to subdue terrorism and other vices across the nation. He called on core Niger Youths to
shield the sword and embrace dialogue with the government to bring lasting peace and development in the region. The youth group expressed precision and support for the amnesty program of the Federal Government which according to it has helped many to become economically independent after receiving training and education. In his welcome address the Chielf Of Defense Staff Gen. Gabriel Olonishakin appealed to other youths in the Niger Delta to emulate correlation of youths leaders by supporting the efforts of government for rapid development in the region. Gen. Olonishakin who was represented by chief of policy and plans Air Vice Marshal Bashiru says that what the county requires at this time is peace to bring about development and attract foriegene investors to the country.
