Ebonyi State: 32 Inmates Set Free And 14 Sentnced To Life Imprisonment

The Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has
pardoned 32 prison inmates and commuted the death
sentences handed down to 14 inmates to life
imprisonment.
The inmates are drawn from the prisons in Ebonyi and
Enugu states.
The governor made these declarations at the Abakaliki
Township Stadium during the celebration of the 56
independence anniversary celebration of the country
and the 20th anniversary of the creation of the....

state,also announced a five percent increase of
workers’ salaries in the state from this month.
He, however, directed the Attorney-General of the state,
Rt. Hon Augustine Nwankwegu, to monitor the freed
inmates and bring periodic reports to his office on their
behaviour to ensure they do not constitute further
threat to the society
