SUV CRUSHES A FAMILY AND A PASSENGER TO DEATH

An accident which occurred along Adagbabiri axis of the East West Road in Sagbama Local Government Area  of Bayelsa state has claimed the lives of 5 people including a woman and her 3 children.

The deceased Mrs Ruth and her 3 children Favour (female) 9years, Godgift (boy) 5years and Oghenerho (a baby) died when the driver of a Toyota Highlander  SUV  identified as Okpekpe Mayor reported lost control of the car and crashed into their kiosk by the road side as gathered by Vangaurd.

A female passenger in the car also died while the driver and one of the deceased woman's daughter are in critical condition in the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara.

Just like several others the woman also had a kiosk by the road side where they sale food stuff such as Crayfish, smoked fish, palm oil and palm wine to commuters.
An eye witness said the woman was having lunch with her children in their kiosk when the SUV rammed into it and crushed them. The woman and her three children have been confirmed dead while one is still hanging unto life.

The remains of the deceased had since been deposited at the morgue of Ughelli General Hospital in Delta state.


The spokesman of the Bayelsa State Police Command, Asinim Butswat while confirming the development, said the SUV plate number where marked YEN 726 RG.
